read this article too! good for all of us, hoping to 'see and hear' more of Tito when he said, he plans to come more often! Mabuhay!

Thanks, Jessie. Tito used to take me on walks along Legarda trying to talk sense into my head. He sticks out for me because of those times more than the music itself. Of course, that was great, too.

Deng, I wish I can be there while he is there. Last time he went home in Baguio, while he was performing, my uncles were just passing the Beer to me coz Beers were just flowing... He does magic with his Guitar and His voice....

Nice to know, Jessie. Last time I saw him was at a gig he had at the Gingerbread Man, right by SLU, sometime in the early '80s. Funny, because compared to the pic in the article, he used to sport a lot shorter hair then.

I remember that very well, although I believe the place was called Silverspoon (Choco House) where he played a few songs for the Chan Family. I remember it well coz my Uncles were passing me Beer coz they just kept going to our table from people. That was also the time when Manong Tito had a concert at the Pines Hotel.

Question though, wasn't Gingerbread at the Questa Building? I remember way back in the 70's when Manong Tito and all the well known Folk Singers from Baguio used to play at Questa Building... Small World ain't it?

Small world Jessie. I'm glad we had a few good exchanges before we found all about Tito as a common link. That question on Gingerbread would probably be better answered by others. I used to get there and make my way out of it is about I know about it. I have an idea. Let's put Ric and the other manongs on the spot. Any takers?

I bet you Manong Ric will remember the Folk House at the Questa's right before the circle at Saint Louis. I remember the brother (forgot his name) of Manang Anita who runs the folkhouse, drive this beetle... Boy, I remember those days so vivid... Used to go in at the Folk house with fishnets made of rope and the smell of spoiled beer (hehe) as you go in or was that a drunk I was smelling... heheh

I'm sure Manong Ric and Manong Mark will remember this place very well... Gosh, those were the days ha?

Those were the days...would you say things have gotten better? I hear a lot of folks bemoaning Baguio's condition today. I know I have on occasion.Yet Ric and the guys have become experts at looking for gems among the rocks. I think they have it right.

It all depends on how you percieve it... Things have changed as compared way back, before you almost know everyone who walks session road... Baguio now is so populated even vehicles... I went home December and its not as cold as it used to... A very big difference...

I'm going home March, but if you'll go next year I will be going too, maybe on the later part of the year...

Mang Francis, Manong Ric concurred that GINGERBREAD was at the Cuesta Building during the 70's... It was Silverspoon then where you saw Manong Tito perform during the 80's

habits, jessie. They could have changed the name 5 times, it still would've been Gingerbread Man to me and my friend then, lol.

And, damn, Jessie..."mang" Francis? That's older than a manong. Ric is wayyyyyyyyyy older than me!

You'll be like my Aunt who went home last December after 30 years, boy was she lost... She couldn't even find and remember those places she used to hangout at. It will be a shock bro...

we'll keep in touch over this one, Jessie. I have a couple of competing interests on where the money goes. Flying lessons, re-modeling/repainting...a new wife? I'm worried about the last one...
